People in Wales and those of Welsh origin celebrate the
life of their patron saint, St David, and the Welsh culture on March the 1st
each year. Many people pin a daffodil or leek to their clothes and some,
especially children, wear traditional costumes. St David is the patron saint of
Wales. March the 1st is a day of celebration of both. Many people attend
special church services, parades, choral recitals or Welsh literature readings.
Schools plan celebrations, often involving choirs, on the day.
I love abseiling because when I`m on top of a mountain I
feel really good, I feel a stronger self-esteem. My favourite place to do abseiling is Sintra
because it´s a beautiful place. It has
beautiful sceneries. When a I’m abseiling in Sintra I feel that it's just me and nature.
I had a good teacher! I started abseiling because my dad gave me this love for
nature and sports.
But don’t think it’s easy! We have to train a lot and hove to have a
good level of fitness, because abseiling is hard work. Abseiling is available to anyone. You just have to be
sensible and to train for it.
For those who don't know, abseiling is to go down a vey steep slope by holding on to a rope that is fastened to the top of the slope.

I spend most weekends in
Gaeiras, a small hamlet near Óbidos.
Usually I leave Lisbon on Friday evening after school and my grandfather drives
us to his home. There, I feel free as I can ride the bike, followed by my dog.
On Saturday morning I go to the swimming pool. In the afternoon I practise
horse riding.
Last weekend I had neither swimming nor horse riding as we went to Montejunto
to plant a few trees.
There are many activities in Óbidos according to the time of the year such as:
The chocolate festival celebrated from: 31st
March - 25th April
The Medieval Festival celebrated from: 31st July- 1st August, 2016
The
Christmas Fair celebrated from: 4th December – 3rd January
I love all these festivals but
above all the chocolate fair.
On Sunday I travel by bus back home, here in Lisbon.
On February 23rd, our class went to the theater to see the theatre play "Auto da Barca do Inferno", by the portuguese medieval author Gil Vicente. Gil Vicente was considered the father of the portuguese theatre.
This activity was related with the portuguese subject. It was organiseed by our teacher of portuguese language. We went there by bus and before we stopped to have lunch. Then we went to the theater and saw the play. We loved it, because it is a kind of comedy. Gil Vicente was brilliant concerning satire. He worked this literary gender very well. By Rodrigo Tomé
